It's the nearest grocery store to my home. When I didn't know, I drove to the Netherlands every 30 minutes, and it was great to know now! I just bought garlic because I needed it urgently today!

The Homestead is fantastic. A true community resource with tons of locally made, healthy and allergy friendly options. Whether you live along the peak to peak or if you're visiting the state park, you'll be glad you stopped in this gem. A relatively new store front, every time I go the shelves are filling up more & more with irresistible goodies.

Incredible not for profit market for gilpin county. Run by locals and food sources from local farms, the veggies are incredibly fresh and delicious given the remoteness of this location. The daily made cafe goods are incredible as well and made from products going bad. Really well rounded market for basic needs when living far from a true grocery store. Run by great people who want the best for the community. Lots of local goods from fresh coffee, salsa, bulk items like spices and grains/flours, milk, eggs and all in season produce which is just beautiful.

Such a little gem of a find on a family trip to Black Hawk. The quaint market/cafe is nestled next to Golden Gate Canyon State Park. Sourcing local produce in season and local products year round make it easy to want to support their efforts. The staff was great and the donation based lunches Fri-Sun were delicious…such a cool vibe of giving and receiving. Definitely will be coming back anytime I’m in the area for wholesome food! I was told by they are growing and expanding to serve more local food growers and producers while maintaining a cozy feel. Places like this feel like a home away from home! They also have a weekly meditation class on Sunday, pretty awesome…

I went into the store because I saw the sign on the road and wanted to see if they might have honey. Keep in mind I'm Hispanic; once I walked into the store I was just stared at. No one said hello or how can I help you. I was made to feel like I should be in there or was not wanted at all. Not friendly at all towards anyone of color. Maybe they are nice if you look Caucasian. I'll never go back. I was actually excited to go in before this. I'm so disappointed.

Amazing find! My family and I were so happy to stumble upon this gem of a place. The weekend lunches are 10/10 and the selection of store items are just what we look for - high quality fresh local produce and organic goods. We felt so lucky to meet the sweet director! Extremely hospitable, knowledgable, helpful and kind. Will definitely return!! Thank you for the yummy lunches ?

I have to admit that I have not been inside this little market. My daughter has, but about a week ago they had a little Farmers market out in the parking lot, that I did go to and they had a small selection of vendors, it was a fun time. They had one vendor that had olive oil that was infused with ghost peppers, jalapenos and garlic, the kicker was is that this gentleman in the process figured out how to remove all the heat from the ghost pepper and the jalapeno and leave only the flavor wow it was good. But back to the review I did have a good time at their little Farmers market out on the parking lot and I do intend to go inside the little store and take a look around and review that further.
