Love Dogma and their lovely, kind and helpful team. We’ve gotten everything from adorable seasonal engagement toys they keep in stock to their homemade treats and a birthday pupcake—all have been wonderful. Also recently took my pup for his first grooming appointment, and Diana was beyond wonderful—she was very patient and loving with him, and she did an excellent job even though he tried to sit a lot when it would have been more convenient for her to have him standing. Super impressed with how quiet and comfortable the dogs seem in the grooming area—unlike other places where you hear lots of chaos. Will be back again and again. Pics of his pupcake and his coat post-groom 🙂

I have to say Dogma is the place to go!

I just rescued an older dog and the lady that was fostering her mentioned this store down the block. Immediately after meeting my pup (Millie) I stopped in. Dogma has everything you could possibly need. I first went into the Shirlington location for training treats and the gentleman was so helpful. As I waited for the adoption paperwork to go through, I went in again and took in even more of the store. I was able to purchase a couple of cute items for the 2 legged folks that were my references. Dogma has great dog and cat parent gifts too!!!

It was almost time to pick up my sweet girl to take her home and I wanted to make sure I had EVERYTHING - excited mom I guess- so I stopped by the Clarendon location. I had been in before with friends to get items for their dogs but hadn’t shopped for myself. I was so delighted. Everyone was helpful and understanding since I had so many questions- new parents always do. While I was shopping the owner Sheila popped in. All of Sheila’s folks are knowledgeable and if you have an animal, pup, or kitty this is your one stop shop. They provided great info, great products and have a nice customer service way about them including a system so if you forget what you bought last time no problem, they can look it up. Want to talk about service
. As I mentioned the owner popped in and as I was walking out with my purchases she asked if I had found everything ok. I told her there were these treats I got at their Shirlington location that aren’t here, so I’d pop over there that week. She immediately said that wasn’t necessary and that she would bring them over to the Clarendon location for me the next day - did I mention that was JULY 4th! Yes, they were open and the treats were there. I picked up a couple of patriotic bowties for my pup and the pups at the party I was headed to.

She also asked me about my rescue and she helped me find the right food- which as you know if you have a pet can be quite the process. Unfortunately, our dog is ill so we had to go to see a specialist- the only reason I mention that is because that specialist asked us to bring everything we feed/use on Millie. And that specialist was beyond pleased with every product we brought in for him to look at! As you learn and grow with your pet you know you’ll need different products, for us lately it’s eye wipes for allergy season and nose and paw natural moisturizer to help with that hot payment, but whatever it is, Dogma has it and can get it for you if needed. Did you know they are also a bakery; we were grain free but the doctor says we can have anything now- so we are hitting the bakery this weekend.

When I met Sheila in the clarendon location and got talking about my dog and her being a rescue, she thanked me for rescuing her and said they would have a rescue package when I picked up the treats. Well, let me tell you - it was beyond beyond what you could ever imagine- food, treats, food toppers, goats milk and the list goes on and on- Millie is 18 pounds and the bag was bigger than her. Will try to attach picture here.

And lastly, when I was in on my visit to the Clarendon location I asked about grooming, they do it at the Shirlington location. You bring you pet for your appointment time and pick them up when they are done- NO CAGES- it’s just like when you go get your hair cut. Well, a little different but you get it. No lines, no wait, you can even see what they are doing. It was Millie’s first cut and we are already scheduled for her next one, she didn’t know she could look so good after being in the streets on the run so long. She surely is settling into her pampered lifestyle – LOL. I’m so thankful she came into my life and I am sure glad Dogma is there for us! I can’t say enough good things about these shops, so next time you need something or you just want to browse and talk to some knowledgeable folks, stop by either location.

Thank you, Dogma, Shelia, and all the staff, for keeping us on track and helping us in our journey! We love you!

I took my baby girl (Belle) to Dogma to get her nails 💅 trimmed. They were super patient as my dog has never gone to a groomer in her whole ten years of life and is especially anxious! They also only cut off what was necessary and no more as it was her first time, not wanting to push too hard. Excitingly, my baby has walked two miles after getting her nails trimmed! She has not walked this far for several years! I am so happy!! Thank you so much Dogma!!! ❀❀
(I never knew her nails where the problem, I just thought it was because she was getting older)

I took our 5 month old mini bernedoodle puppy here for his first grooming appointment and they did an amazing job!!!! The groomer was patient with him as he was a little skittish with the vacuum and he definitely did not seem upset or stressed coming out of his visit. I will certainly be returning for his future grooming appointments and to get him some yummy treats!

🐕 Amber 💖 got a “pedi” & our hearts are full! ♄ You see
Amber is our sweet cuddly fluffy rescue girl. But she is also dog-reactive & very anxious. We had been doing her nails using a scratch pad but this has become increasingly challenging for her. Amber has hip dysplasia & had two TPLOs so nail care is critical to her joint health. Dogma was amazing!!! The employees, the groomer & the overall vibe made for the most perfect experience. Amber didn’t really react to the dogs on site, the groomer did a fantastic job keeping her calm and getting her nails done, and we walked out with a happy girl with nails on fleek! 💅 Highly recommended by a pawparent of three quirky rescue pups! â˜ș
