Management of this kennel has no heart.

Happened a year ago, still feeling remains
Here is what is all about.

We left 5 y.o. Maine Coon cat for a week while went on a vacation. Paid an extra for upgrade to “luxury” better room to stay. Three days later our cat was dead and friends came to extract her body. Reason of death was unknown.
No compassion letter was further received from the kennel.

However the icing on this cake was what later we received the stay invoice to be paid.

Now, you figure the kind of people run this business.
Feel no sorry to leave this review.

Fellow Pet Parents beware!!!!!!
I used their services many times, each time with unfriendly staff who come across as our business being an inconvenience and a burden, but continued to use their services due to their location.
The last time picking up our cat - the door was unlocked, lights on, no one there! I walked around yelling for help, no one there. Then I went over to the dog building - door unlocked, lights on, no one there! Walked around, yelling for help, no one there. No notice or signs anywhere. Hello!!!! Although I could have retrieved our cat myself and left a note with payment, out of courtesy, I simply left and returned home. Left a voicemail indicating what had happened and that I needed to pick up our cat.
Upon returning the owner didn’t even acknowledge what had happened until I said “all the doors were unlocked and no one was here”. She said there was a death in the family. I said I was sorry to hear that and that the doors were all unlocked. No reply, concern, or appreciation whatsoever. The cash payment was over $20 than expected and she said ‘well we had to do something with all of our expenses, we haven’t increased the fees in years’. Ok granted, but I should have been advised of the fee changes from the previous year that we were there, esp. since you only take cash?
Emergencies come up, but you have an obligation for the safety of everyone’s pets!!! You could have at least locked the front doors and then simply left! Anyone could have done the unimaginable that day, to anyone’s pets. NEVER AGAIN!!!

We took our 3 dogs (working but lovable breeds) to Gloucester Boarding Kennels for years and last pickup were told by owner she couldn't handle our current dog any longer as he was "too destructive". Time passed and we found another kennel not far away. Our dog is no longer sad being dropped off and is super happy being picked up (smells and looks great too) - it is obvious to us that he is now way better cared for and feels loved in his new environment. I will never return to Gloucester Boarding Kennels as my guess is dogs are put in a cage and don't get much in the way of attention or affection (just caged animals). He, our current dog, was a rescue, and being held in a cage for too many hours at a time just didn't work for him or us. So glad we found our new kennel as he loves it, they care about him, he gets out, and it shows. Owner of GBK is aging and now a bit over her head. If we didn't find a new Kennel we wouldn't have known the difference so be cautious with GBK! Not ideal for dogs that need more than a cage...

I won’t be leaving my dog here again. When I picked him up I was told that he had been sick overnight and had diarrhea in his cage. Upon asking when his last bathroom break was I was informed that his last outing was at 6pm and then not again until 8am the next morning! 14 hours with no bathroom break is unacceptable! They brag about how many times the animals are let out during the day but fail to mention it’s only between the hours of 8-6.

I used the cat boarding service for my two cats(brothers). They were there for 18 days in a presidential suite. The "room" is very spacious, the best in town: large(probably the largest space of this kind in the city), very clean, with large windows, full of light. Fully air conditioned-optimum temperature! No smell at all and I visited the kennel for couple of times before I left my cats there. On my return I found them in a great condition, shiny fur and very clean. I was allowed to bring there one of the cats tree that I had at home and they enjoyed having one of their favorite places there in front of the window. I am very grateful for the boarding service and I am recommending it 100%.

I would not recommend this kennel. My dog was boarded for the long weekend in July/Aug. I only needed her to be kenneled from Friday to Sunday - but they have this rule that you can't pick up your dog until Tuesday for the long weekend as Monday was a holiday.

Drop off: There's a very short window to drop off and pickup between 8-9am or 4-5pm- we had to wait 20 min at reception at 8am before anyone could take my dog at drop off.

Staff: The staff were not very friendly to humans (I hoped they were kinder to the animals) and I was met with indignation when I asked if it were possible to pick my dog up early (Sunday or Monday). It seemed a weird concept to them to offer good customer service. They are a business after all.

Pickup: Pickup went well, my dog was dirty but that was expected and she seemed happy to see us and otherwise unharmed despite the fact that she was being held hostage for an extra 2 days at this place. BUT when we got home we realized she had developed a urinary tract infection (UTI) so off to the vet we go tomorrow. This kennel will now cost me more than I expected to pay if you include my upcoming vet bills.
DO NOT RECOMMEND
